Chocolate muffins

The other day I made some chocolate muffins. My sister is learning how to decorate cakes and she is making me think more and more about making sweets and decorating them too. It is another form of art on itself. Anyways, I decided to try a recipe of chocolate muffins that uses some powder cocoa. I used less than a cup of sugar instead of 2 cups and I made a cream cheese icing. They were really chocolaty, perfect for a chocolate lover, not for me, but they were good. The kids have been enjoying them, that's for sure.

El otro dia hice unas madalenas de chocolate. Mi hermana esta aprendiendo a decorar pasteles y me esta haciendo que me pase el dia pensando en hacer dulces y tambien en decorarlos. Es otra forma de arte en si misma. Bueno, la cosa es que decidi probar una receta de madalenas de chocolate que usa cacao en polvo. Use menos de una taza de azucar auqneu la receta decia que necesitaba dos y tambien hice la cubierta azucarada de queso filadelfia. Sabian mucho a chocolate, perfecto para aquelos que les encante el chocolate, un poco de mas para mi, pero estaban ricas. A los ninhos les encanto, eso esta claro.

And the icing recipe from here, although I also reduced the amount of sugar to less than half. I added red adn yellow food coloring.

La receta salio de aqui. Y la cubierta de aqui, aunque tambien reduje la cantidad de azucar a menos de la mitad. Le anhadi colorante rojo y amarillo.

Complete day

Today was that, a complete day, or maybe I am just so tired that I feel that there is no room for more! Well, overall it was a fun day and I am happy for it.
We had a party at a neighbors house. It was a kids party so that the kids that live in the neighborhood could play and have fun and get to know each other better. It was a lot of fun. I brought little pumpkins for them to decorate and they did great, although most boys were more interested in playing with cars than with paints! The party ended with me making face paintings, something I thought kids love and I always wanted to do but never found the materials. But the other day I found several colors and it was a hit! I made simple drawings but the kids really enjoyed it. Now I need to learn more about how to make face paintings. Maybe I will get a book from the library for the following time we do it.

Hoy tvimos un dia completo, o quizas estoy tan cnasada que no creo que me quede espacio para nada mas! Bueno, fue un dia divertido y estoy feliz por ello. Tuvimos una fiesta en casa de unos vecinos. Era una fiesta de ninhos para que los vecinos de la comunidad jugaran y se lo pasaran bien y se conocieran un poco mas. Lo pasamos muy bien. Compre unas calabacitas para que las decoraran y lo hicieron muy bien, aunque la mayoria de los ninhos estaban mas interesando en jugar con cochecitos que en las pinturas! La fiesta termino despues de que yo les pintara la cara a todos, algo que he a los ninhos les encanta y que he querido hacer desde hacia tiempo pero nunca encontraba los materiales. Pero el otro dia encontre varios colores y fue un exito! Hice dibujito sencillos pero a los ninhos les encanto. Ahora tengo que aprender mas sobre como hacer mas dibujos en la cara. Quizas me saqeu un libro de la biblioteca para la proxima vez.

And then we went to a baby shower. I made a little bag to hold pacifiers because I remember my son's pacifiers were all over the place and they were hard to find at times. If I had had one of those hanging from his crib things would have been easier...

Y luego fuimos a una fiesta de un bebe (se hacen aqui antes de que el bebe nazca). Hice una bolsita para poner chupetes porque me acuerdo que a mi hijo se le perdian todos y nunca los encontrabamos. Si hubiera tenido una de estas para colgarla de su cuna hubiera sido mucho mas facil...

She did it again!!

And my little sister did it again, finished her second degree within months from the first one, and this nothing else than a piano performance degree!!! How proud and happy we all feel for her because we know all the effort and years of hard work that it took to get there! Congratulations MJ, you are the champion!!!

Y mi hermanita lo hizo de nuevo, acabo su segunda carrera meses despues de la primera, y nada mas y nada menos que es pianista!!! Que orgullosos y felices estamos por ella porque sabemos el esfuerzo y los anhos de trabajo duro que paso para llegar a esto! Enhorabuena MJ, eres la campeona!!!

Playing again

This thing of not playing the guitar all summer is tough, now I feel like I know nothing again! But maybe it will be like riding the bicyle all over again??? The important thing is being motivated again, and that I am :) John Denver I'm gonna conquer you hahahaha!

Esto de no tocar la guitarra en todo el verano es un rollo, ahora me parece que no se nada otra vez! Pero quizas sea como montar en bici de nuevo??? Lo importante es estar motivada de nuevo, y eso si lo estoy :) John Denver te voy a conquistar jajajaja!

And after a long long time, I went to Joann's the fabric store again. I have been saving money lately by not shopping anything at all, not in the fabric store or anywhere else, but today, I made an exception, I have some presents to make and I needed some fresh new fabric to get inspired.

Y despues de mucho tiempo, fui a Jo Anns de nuevo, la tienda de telas. He estado ahorrando dinero ultimamente y no he comprado nada de nada, ni en la tienda de telas ni en ninguna otra tienda, pero hoy hice una excepcion, tengo que hacer unos regalitos y necesitaba algo de tela nueva para animarme.

OK I had to get this sweater too, it was too cute to pass...

Bueno, tuve que comprar este jersey tambien, era demasiado bonito como para no hacerlo...

Soccer

Aren't these flowers beautiful? My husband liked this plant, it is called cat wiskers and I love the white and sparky blooms. They don't last too long but enough to make me happy for a few days.

¿Verdad son flores preciosas? A mi marido le encantaba esta planta, se llama bigotes de gato y me encantan sus flores blancas y llamativas. No duran mucho pero lo suficiente como para hacerme feliz durante unos días.

I signed Luca up for soccer. The first week, he was shy...shy!!! Luca! he is not a shy boy. Fortunatelly for him, he is quite social and blends in with just about anyone in a matter of seconds. But doing a new activity, with new children and not knowing what was going on, made him shy...I was concerned but the following week, his aunt took him, had to brive him a little, but then he played like if he had done this before. He is a natural!!

Apunté a Luca futbol. La primera semama, estuvo tímido...¡tímido!¡Luca! no es un niño tímido. Por suerte para él, es muy sociable y se junta con cualquiera en unos momentos. Pero al hacer una actividad nueva, con niños que no conoce y sin saber que pasaba, le hizo volverse tímido...me preocupaba que la siguiente semana tampoco jugara, pero su tía le llevó y con un poco de chantaje jugó como si lo hubiera hecho antes. ¡Se le da muy bien!
