Making progress

I have been immersed in my first semester of my second year, and as we get used to the new schedule, new school for Luca and in a way new life, now that we are 2 months into it, it seems better than what I thought it was going to be like back 2 years ago when I had the bright idea to back to school. I guess I get more anxious than I need to ahead of time, but at the same time, things are working out well, so that makes sail smoothly. Luca is such an easy child, so good and compassionate, that really makes my life so much easier. He and I have lots of interesting conversations, he is used to have adult-like conversations because he is the one person I talk to about stuff every day, all day. And I feel he grows and learns so many more things like this, in a way, I try to raise the bar so that he always has to stretch a little to get there. He doesn't stop surprising me. He asks me what things mean, a day after learning a new word, which blows my mind! His auditory memory was not nearly this good not that long ago, so the fact that he does that, which would be common for a hearing child, just makes me happy and proud.

He estado inmersa en mi primer semestre del segundo año, y hemos estado acostumbrándonos al nuevo horario, al nuevo cole de Luca y en cierto modo a nuestra nueva vida, ahora que llevamos dos meses, parece que esta yendo mejor de lo que me imagine hace 2 años cuando tuve la maravillosa idea de volver a estudiar. Creo que me pongo mas nerviosa de lo necesario de antemano, pero a su vez, las cosas nos han ido bien, así que eso hace que las cosas fluyan. Luca es un niño dócil , bueno y compasivo, y la verdad es que me hace la vida fácil. Tenemos muchas conversaciones, esta acostumbrado a hablar como un adulto porque es la única persona con la que hablo a diario, cada día. Y creo que crece y aprende mas así, en cierto modo, intento subirle las metas para que siempre tenga que dar un paso mas allá para llegar a su objetivo. No deja de sorprenderme. Me pregunta lo que significan las cosas, un día después de aprender una palabra nueva, lo cual me sorprende muchísimo! su memoria auditiva no era ni muchísimo menos tan buena hace poco, así que el hecho de que haga eso, lo que es normal en cualquier niño oyente, me da mucha alegría y me enorgullece.

And this is the zucchini bread I made for our fundraiser bake sale that I was asked for the recipe right away. I didn't even get to taste it, but I guess it was a success!

Y aqui esta el pan de calabacín que hice para sacar fondos para la Universidad y enseguida me pidieron la receta. No llegue a probarlo pero creo que fue un éxito!

And talking about fundraisers, our annual walk 4 hearing was today, always fun to run into so many friends and ever year I know more people from more places. It was a great day.

Y hablando de recaudaciones, nuestra caminara para recaudar dinero para la asociación de sordos fue hoy, siempre tan divertido encontrarme con tanta gente conocida y cada año parece que voy conociendo a mas gente de mas lugares. Fue un gran día.
