Placemats

In my previous post I showed my ongoing project. The squares are just 2.5 x 2.5"...that is 6.5 x 6.5 cm. What I am doing here is making a set of 6 placemats that will match this runner that I had previously made for my mother in law. I am not sure if it's going to be too overwhelming with so much patchwork (as my husband critically suggested) but the thing is I like it like this. I like mixing squares of different fabrics within the same color palette. And it's fun to play with the fabrics I already have.

Lately my son is taking short and fewer naps than usual. This makes it hard to do crafts and also to write in this blog. Right now he is sleeping and that's why I'm here ;). I know its going to get even more difficult as he grows older, but I will have to plan my day better because I enjoy both crafting and blogging a lot.

And lastly I signed up for a swap, this one over at African Kelli. Today is the last day to sign up.

The placemats are a great idea. I love the color combinations. I am trying to make my first quilt. It is totally addictive. Can't wait to see your final products.

Hola Carmen,
You just gave me a great idea for my first project. I was thinking to do curtains for my daughters' room but I think that the placemates will be an easier thing to do before I try to do a bigger project. As soon as I'm in Morelia, I'll go get some fabrics to do them.

Wow!!! Precioso!!! Menudas manos y paciencia!!! :)
