book bag

My sister got her PhD last week when we all went to West Virginia. She defended her project and I believe she impressed her committee, since she had to switch gears and develop a project that she initially didn't have much background on. The first thing she said after finishing was that finally she could take a break and now she was going to find time to read without feeling guilty. It's nice to have a bit of free time to enjoy doing something you really like not worrying about having to be somewhere else doing something else. Life sometimes is so busy, I wonder what I do in my weeks, but the truth is, I don't have much time for myself. I know in my case is a matter of willing to do something and getting to be organized. I finally found the time and motivation to do something I like, sewing. My friend's birthday is today. I thought this was a perfect opportunity to create something. I didn't go to bed until 2.30 am last night, but I got a lot done. Today I finished this project and I feel so good. It's a new kind of bag, I saw an image of it in a Martha Stewart magazine. I think it came with instructions but I decided to just do it off the top of my head, it didn't seem too hard. It's a book bag, and I got her a book that I enjoyed reading sometime ago. I am happy with the way it looks and I hope she gets to use it much! that will mean she has time to enjoy herself :)

Mi hermana saco su doctorado la semana pasada cuando todos fuimos a West Virginia. Defendio su tesis y yo creo que impresiono a los miembros de su tribunal, ya que ella tuvo que cambiar de rama y desarrollar un proyecto de un area de investigacion totalmente diferente. Lo primero que dijo al acabar fue que al fin podria descansar y que ahora iba a buscar tiempo para leer sin sentirse culpable. Que bueno tener un poco de tiempo libre para hacer algo que te gusta sin preocuparte de tener que estar en otro lugar haciendo algo distinto. En la vida uno a veces esta tan ocupado, que yo a veces me pregunto que hago yo en toda la semana, pero la verdad es, que no tengo casi tiempo para mi. Yo se que en mi caso todo depende de querer hacer las cosas y de organizrme mejor. Por fin encontre la motivacion y el tiempo de hacer algo que me gusta, coser. Hoy es el cumple de mi amiga. Pense que esta era la oportunidad perfecta de crear algo. Anoche no me acoste hasta las 2.30 am pero hice un monton. Hoy acabe este proyecto y me siento tan bien.. Es un estilo nuevo de bolsa, vi una foto de esta bolsa en una revista de Martha Stewart. Creo que venian las instrucciones pero pense que mejor la hacia de cabeza porque ademas parecia bastante sencilla. Es una bolsa para libros y le compre tambien un libro que a mi me gusto leer hace tiempo. Me gusta como ha quedado y espero que la use mucho! eso significara que tiene tiempo para disfrutarlo:)
