Oh I'm still here

Hi! I am here! I didn't go anywhere! And I am here to do a quick recap of our lives in the past few months I've been away from my little internet space. I guess my last post was in January right in the middle of our winter and my second semester at school. I was very busy and increasingly stressed out with classwork, clinic and just getting all those new ideas and concepts inside my head. In the meantime, Luca finished his last semester at his oral school and he graduated with amazing speech, language and great life skills that will serve him well. It has been a whirlwind of things and a learning process, also to get used to living under the stress and to learn to find time to study and to the things that demand my attention without forgetting the important things in life. It has been a juggling act but it is working out and I couldn't be happier. I love learning about audiology and I am eager to become an audiologist. It is amazing how much I have learned in just a year and I can't wait to be done and ready with all the skills needed to become a good audiologist.
I have also been very lucky to have so many family visits that this has been an intense summer with lots of good memories to be kept. All 4 of Luca's grandparents were in town for his graduation and so was his aunt. It was a special day, he gave a beautiful speech and made me very proud. It is hard to leave that school that has been our home for the past 3.5 years, but I am sure we will both spend many more hours visiting around there. It is nerve-racking to get into the next stage, the real school, that even though he is getting lots of help and support, it won't be like his oral school, it will be more like real life.   We will see what experiences we will live this year, I am looking forward to it.
And about my summer it's been great! I have seen 2 of my sisters and their families and had my parents for a long time by my side, so I am as happy as can be! And I am doing a practicum at a clinic that is a non profit and I LOVE it! I have so much fun there that I am always looking forward to going to work! I wish my real job is something like that, a place that is full of activity but surrounded by great people and with possibility to make people cry of happiness. What a great feeling.
And that's it for today, I have lots of things in my mind I want to share, now it's a matter to find the strength to do it..can't promise anything...


Hola! Estoy aquí! Y no voy a ninguna parte! Y estoy aquí para hacer un resumen rápido de nuestras vidas en los últimos meses he estado fuera de mi pequeño espacio en internet. Creo que mi último mensaje fue en enero en pleno invierno y en mi segundo semestre en la escuela. Estuve muy ocupada y cada vez más estresada con las clases, clínica y tratando retener todas esas nuevas ideas y conceptos dentro de mi cabeza. Mientras tanto, Luca terminó su último semestre en la escuela oral y se graduó con habla y lenguaje increíbles, y con grandes habilidades que le serán muy útiles en su vida. Ha sido un torbellino de cosas y un proceso de aprendizaje, también el acostumbrarme a vivir bajo estrés y aprender a encontrar tiempo para estudiar y a dedicar tiempo a las cosas que requieren mi atención sin olvidar las cosas importantes en la vida. Ha sido como hacer juegos malabares, pero está funcionando y no podría estar más feliz. Me encanta aprender sobre audiología y estoy ansiosa por convertirme en una audióloga. Es increíble lo mucho que he aprendido en tan sólo un año y me muero de ganas de acabar para ser una buena audióloga.
También he tenido la suerte de tener muchas visitas familiares y este ha sido un verano intenso, con un montón de buenos recuerdos. Los 4 abuelos de Luca vinieron para su graduación y también su tía. Fue un día especial, dio un discurso muy bonito y me hizo sentir muy orgullosa. Es difícil salir de esa escuela que ha sido nuestro hogar durante los últimos 3,5 años, pero estoy segura de que ambos pasaremos muchas más horas de visita por allí. Es estresante entrar en la siguiente etapa, la escuela regular, que a pesar de que va a recibir mucha ayuda y apoyo allí,  no va a ser como su escuela oral, sino que será más como la vida real. Vamos a ver qué experiencias nos aguardan este año, estoy deseando que llegue.
Y sobre mi verano ha sido genial! He visto a 2 de mis hermanas y sus familias y estuvieron mis padres durante mucho tiempo a mi lado, así que estoy tan feliz como una perdiz! Y ahora estoy haciendo unas practicas en una clínica que es una ONG, y me encanta! Me divierto mucho así que siempre estoy con ganas de ir a trabajar! Me gustaría que mi trabajo de verdad fuera así, un lugar que este lleno de actividad, pero rodeado de buenas personas y con posibilidad de hacer llorar a la gente de felicidad. ¡Qué gran sensación!. 
Y eso es todo por hoy, tengo un montón de cosas en mi mente que quiero compartir, pero es cuestión de encontrar la fuerza para hacerlo... no puedo prometer nada ...
