The summer is here

And with the summer, the watermelons. I have been thinking about them for a while, and that’s why I made a watermelon pincushion. It looks more like an inflated banana with watermelon colors, but the thing of the seeds helps a lot to picture that is a watermelon, although most watermelons are seedless these days….(we bought a real one two days ago and it was sweet mmmm).

I make these small projects while I work on the bigger ones. I have updates on those. I finished the top of a handmade quilt that I am making for several months already. I work on that quilt on Sundays when I get together with my friends. Oftentimes I have my baby with me which means I don’t get much done, but I finally finished! Now I have to put the back and batting together, which is the part that I like the least, and then I have to quilt it.

Very cute! I just realized I never got around to doing the pincushion challenge this month. I won't finish the apron one in time either (second month in a row). Aaarrrggghhh.

Quite fun. I love how those pins look like the white seeds in the watermelon in the photo.

That doesn't look like a banana - it looks like a watermelon!!! Very sweet and tasty.
