New arrival, new goodbye

My sister had her baby finally! I am a happy aunt! I saw her over the webcam tonight and she is so beautiful!!! I am very excited because I will meet her pretty soon. I have some projects in mind for her so I better get back to crafting if I want to make it on time...

And I have a neighbour from China that I met through my good friend Hui, also from China. We live right across from each other but we only developed a relationship recently, when we started trying to comunicate in Chinese and using body language with her mom and dad. They are really good, they understand everything we say and we seem to understand them also. Her mom likes to knit and she made a nice sweater for my son in just a couple of days...so nice! then later I helped them buying a sewing machine since I had just bought one myself. Now they are leaving, moving out of Florida so I wanted to make something for them since they enjoy crafts and also they were so nice with all of us.

I made her potholder and a thing to hold a hot pan handle. I used the lefover fabric that I used for my purse, which were kitchen towels. I love this fabric!

Congrats on the new "auntship"! Seems like babies are popping up all over the place. Amelie's day care provider had her grand daugher on Friday. My colleague is expecting his daughter this weekend. I wish we could go back to the "arrival-time"--it's as if you're living in a totally different world. Tiring but so intense.
