A great day

Today was quite unplanned and at the same quite an expected Sunday. However, because it was mother's day I spent a considerable amount talking on the phone and also reading nice emails.
When we tried to get together for our Sunday gathering, I realized that we didn't have our regular room. My friend and I, who usually organize things for the group had to make many phone calls and arrangements until finally we were able to gather our friends who wanted to learn how to make a meringue cake at one of our member's home. It was so much better than expected! the company was great, the place incredible, and the cake....mmm I wouldn't say it was piece of cake to make it even though our teacher seemed like she could make it with her eyes closed, but it was definetely DELICIOUS!

Hoy fue un dia poco planeado y a la vez un Domingo esperado. Pero como era el dia de la madre, pase un tiempo considerable hablando por telefono y leyendo emails muy chulos. Cuando intentamos juntarnos para nuestra reunion de los domingos, me di cuenta de que no teniamos la habitacion de siempre disponible. Mi amiga y yo, que solemos organizar las cosas del grupo tuvimos que hacer muchas llamadas de telefono y arreglos para que por fin nos pudiesemos reunir con nuestras amigas que querian aprender a hacer una tarta de merengue en casa de una de nuestras amigas. Estuvo mucho mejor de lo esperado! la companhia muy buena, el lugar increible, y el pastel....mmm no diria que era chupado hacerlo, aunque pareciera que nuestra instructora lo pudiera hacer con los ojos cerrados, pero lo que esta claro es que estaba DELICIOSO!

The host of our cake workshop was also celebrating her birthday, well she didn't know we were all celebrating it, so it was nice to have such a cake to blow candles, ask for wishes and eat! I made a hanging basket for her. She loves plants so I'm sure she will enjoy it.

La duenha de la casa de nuestra clase de tarta tambien estaba celebrando su cumpleanhos, bueno ella no lo sabia pero nosotras si, asi que estuvo muy bien tener tal pastel y soplar las velas, y pedir deseos y comer! Le hice una cesta de plantitas. Le encantan las plantas asi que estoy segura de que la disfrutara.

No, this didn't end there! We got home and then I got my act together and started cooking a paella. My husband was the one who always made them and he was such a good cook that I didn't even bother trying. I bought good ingredients and did my best. At first I wasn't happy with the rice, the top layer was not quite cooked! ahhhh! that made me mad but I decided to cook it a bit longer and it looks like it did the trick. Everybody loved it and they had seconds:)
My sister in law made sangria, she did so good it looks like she had been doing it all her life, way to go! And the company was again great, so once again we had a wonderful evening.

No, esto no acabao ahi! Llegamos a casa y me puse manos a la obra y comence a cocinar una paella. Mi marido solia hacerlas el y era tan buen cocinero que ni siquiera me moleste en intentarlo. Compre buenos ingredientes e hice lo que pude. Al principio no me quede contenta con el arroz, la capa de arriba no estaba bien hecha! ahhh! me dio rabia pero decidi cocinarlo un poco mas y parece que funciono. A todo el mundo les gusto y repitieron :)
Mi cunhada hizo sangria, la hizo tan bien que parece que la haya estado haciedo toda la vida, muy bien! y la compahia una vez mas muy buena, asi que una super noche. TOP.
